Assembly Supervisor (Assembly foreman retitled)

Job Description Line manager:Production Superintendent

Job aim: To ensure smooth assembly of prepared materials and solve technical problems at the assembly area.


Duty and standards – measurable in terms of time, cost, quality or quantity.
1 Coordinate with supervisor to follow the sequential requirements of the projects
2 Distribute to platers the main items and connections received from the preparation bay
3 Supervise the platers technically to get assigned work done in time
4 Resolve assembly problems to get work done according to drawings
5 Ensure the prepared materials are expedited to avoid any delay
6 Carry out random checking of the assembled materials to avoid mis-fabrication
7 Coordinate with preparation foreman to receive the required items
8 Coordinate with QC for assembled materials to be inspected
9 Ensure that plant safety rules are strictly followed to avoid work injuries
10 Maintain log books for assembled items and give timely information to the the concerned

JOB CONTEXT :
1. To work for achieving production target
2. Receive main items cut to proper size and length and other required connections from the preparation foreman and distribute them for assembly work to platers and welders.
 

Desired Candidate's Profile
Profile KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Qualification :

Diploma in the respective area of specialization (Mechanical engineering)

Experience :
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the occupation in steel industrial environment
-Supervisory and team building skill
- Conversant with occupational health and safety
- Capable of reading blue print / drawings
- Capable of orienting / training team members
-Capable of organizing and delegating work
- Communication and supervisory skills
