Description of Roles & Responsibilities
1. General Management Responsibilities:
· Being the representative of company at the overseas project and the highest ranking officer of concerned Free Zone the Manager must assume overall charge and control of all developments, processes and management issues in Free Zone.
· To recruit, train and develop a Management Team capable of effectively managing the obligations of company as per the contract between parent organization and concerned Free Zone.
· Develop annual operating budget and business plan / strategy for Free Zone and get it approved by the Free Zone Board and parent company.
· Day to day management of the free zone as per the agreed Business plan/strategy and the Budget and keep the management of parent company and Free Zone board informed of the progress.
· Develop a good relationship with all related and interested organizations, where the synergies can be exploited for the overall growth of Free Zone. This includes but not limited to all concerned ministries, government departments, concerned Free Zone, Local and international trade bodies and so on.
2. Financial and Legal responsibilities
· To ensure that all financial issues are addressed and the concerned Free Zone has sufficient finances for running the regular operations on a day to day basis.
· To establish and maintain all debit and credit policies of concerned Free Zone and have a strict control on outstanding and cash flows of the company.
· Ensure compliance will all local laws and local/international practices in terms of accounting, taxation, Legal and company issues.
3. Marketing responsibilities:
· Develop a detailed Marketing and promotion plan for the concerned Free Zone in consultation with the Marketing team of parent company, and management of parent compant to ensure that all global synergies can be achieved. The Detailed plan to include specific sales plan including sales targets, PR Plan and Advertising plan.
· To ensure that the plan is executed and keep the management of parent company and concerned Free Zone Board appraised of the developments.
· It will be the prime responsibility of the General Manager to meet the revenue and space targets agreed on year to year basis.
· Use parent company's global network to get the maximum benefit of parent company's global reach and initiatives, in promoting the concerned Free Zone’s interest.
· Also act a parent company's chief representative in the North East African region in identifying and bring key opportunities for parent company or its other global projects to the attention of the respective colleagues in parent company.
4. Administrative responsibilities:
· Develop Policies and procedures for the free zone in concerned area based on the established norms of parent compant and the local Laws.
· To ensure that all internal and external operating procedures are established and documented for all internal and external activities of the Free Zone. The GM will also have to ensure that all the SOP’s are always kept updated at all times and the same is circulated to all interested parties internally and externally.
· To keep a regular contact with all government or non government authorities to run the regular operations of the free zone in concerned area.
· To keep all licenses, permits, agreements and whatever is needed to run the regular operations of the free zone updated and valid at all times.
· Ensure that all engineering and maintenance issues of the free zone are being addressed and the facility is being kept in best shape and order at all times.
· Oversee the development & operation of all IT related to structure, hardware, applications & execution
5. Reporting:
· Develop a comprehensive reporting and information sharing process that can help all in the management team of concerned Free Zone to share the benefits of info and knowledge sharing.
· To implement a comprehensive monthly report to reach management of parent company not later than 7th day of the succeeding month. The timelines of the report must not be compromised irrespective of the Manager is in station or not. |
