Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Install and maintain HVAC ductwork systems, ensuring optimal airflow and efficiency in residential and commercial buildings.
- Perform detailed measurements and calculations to design duct layouts that comply with building codes and client specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting of existing duct systems to identify leaks, blockages, or inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to coordinate duct installation within larger construction projects.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment for cutting, bending, and sealing duct materials to ensure a precise fit and finish.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while working in confined spaces or at heights, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about project timelines, costs, and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any changes made during installations or repairs.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in HVAC technology to improve skills and enhance service offerings.
- Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in HVAC systems is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in duct installation and maintenance within residential or commercial settings.
- Certifications such as EPA 608 or NATE are highly preferred for compliance and industry recognition.
- Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations related to HVAC systems is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for effective duct installation.
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve duct-related issues efficiently.
- Proficient in using tools such as duct cutters, wrenches, and pneumatic sealers with a focus on precision.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials, work in tight spaces, and handle ladders safely.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred, especially in English and another language, to cater to diverse clients.
