Roles & Responsibilities


JOB PURPOSE

The Academy Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and execution of cybersecurity training programs. This role ensures that all training initiatives align organizational with goals, industry

standards, and evolving cybersecurity threats. The Academy Manager will lead a team of professionals to deliver high-quality training that enhances the cybersecurity capabilities of the workforce and contributes to national

security objectives.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the training plans and report on progress.
  • Manage the training facility and day to day operation such as classrooms booking, material printouts, etc.
  • Ensure that all training logistics are in place to run training programs.
  • Manage students within the academy and report on their progress including attendance management.
  • Ensure alignment of training programs with organizational cybersecurity frameworks and competency framework.
  • Set clear objectives and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and impact of training initiatives.
  • Oversee the delivery of cybersecurity training programs, including instructor-led courses, e-learning modules, simulations, and hands-on exercises.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, SMEs, and external training providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure the technical accuracy and relevance of training content.
  • Present training outcomes, progress reports, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and committees.
  • Implement evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of training programs, using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of training tools, technologies, and infrastructure (e.g., cyber ranges, simulation environments).
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of training activities, certifications, and compliance with the policies.
  • Ensure compliance with national cybersecurity regulations, data protection laws, and policies related to training and development.

Desired Candidate Profile


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Certification in training or instructional design is a plus (e.g., ATD, CPTD).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST) is a plus

EXPERIENCE

  • +10 years of experience in cybersecurity and learning, with at least 3–5 years in managing academies or training centers.
  • Familiarity with cyber range environments, simulations, and hands on training tools.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and accreditation processes.
