Job Description

The role of an Account Assistant is pivotal in ensuring smooth financial operations within a company. As a key member of the finance team, the Account Assistant provides essential support in various accounting tasks, enhancing the efficiency of financial management processes. This position involves meticulous record-keeping, organizing financial documentation, and assisting in preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong numerical skills, and have a keen understanding of accounting principles. By collaborating closely with accountants and other finance professionals, the Account Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.


Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and updating of financial reports and budget plans.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation regularly.
  • Reconcile bank statements and track bank transactions to ensure consistency.
  • Help in processing invoices and managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Provide support in preparing financial statements under supervisory guidance.
  • Coordinate and assist with audits by ensuring proper documentation availability.
  • Handle correspondence with vendors and clients regarding accounting issues.
  • Input and update data in accounting software with attention to detail.
  • Prepare and process journal entries under direction from senior accounting staff.
  • Monitor and handle petty cash transactions and records effectively.
  • Conduct initial invoice reviews and flag discrepancies for further investigation.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing processes accurately.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance support roles is preferred.
  • Proficient in using accounting software like QuickBooks or MS Excel.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations is necessary.
