Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
A Junior Accountant plays a pivotal role within the finance department, primarily responsible for ensuring precise financial record keeping and assisting with various accounting activities. Typical duties include managing ledgers, handling financial reports, and assisting with audits under the guidance of senior accountants. The role is ideal for individuals who are beginning their careers in accounting and are eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world financial scenarios. Junior Accountants must have a keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills to handle diverse accounting tasks efficiently. Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
- Help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as needed.
- Support senior accountants with financial audits and compliance checks.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently.
- Review and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy in records.
- Participate in the preparation of budgets and financial planning activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
- Assist in the daily tasks of the accounting department as required.
- Employ accounting software to record and summarize financial transactions.
- Prepare tax returns and assist with filing under supervision from seniors.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and sensitive information.
- Conduct research and analysis to assist senior accountants in decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience with internships or entry-level accounting roles is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic financial environment.
