A leading global commodities and supply chain merchant, is actively recruiting the role of Accountant/ Administration Manager for the trade desk of its Edible Nuts and Spices Division based in the free trade zone, Dubai. This division is a rapidly growing business for the company and includes diversification into new crop areas (e.g. sesame, cashew, pulses, spices) and geographic expansion across West and East Africa, India, Dubai and the Far East. We require an accountant and office manager who can handle the day to day financials transactions of the Dubai company and work with London to get up to speed with processes and procedures for when our trade book shifts to Dubai. S/he will also be responsible for managing the office and facilities, in keeping with DMCC requirements.
This role would suit a finance degree holder with 5+ years work experience. We need a self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude, who is comfortable doing a range of finance and administrative duties. The role reports into the Financial Controller for ENS and has no direct reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role will have the following key responsibilities:
Manage the daily cash transactions, including expenses and running costs of the Dubai office
Ensure adequate funds in the Dubai account to cover monthly expenses
Streamline expenditure within the team (6 staff) including moving over to accounts with preferred suppliers, ensuring expense claim procedures are followed etc
Learn the London payment and month end accounts systems, including:
o payment approvals, counterparties,
o invoice preparation and approvals
o all related documentation
Maintaining ledgers in particular the debtors ledger, running debtors reports and updating due dates
Closure of ledgers at month end and preparation of forward reports
P&L analysis
Weekly expense report and participation in the preparation of daily PNL report.
Managing the office, related administration and facilities in line with DMCC requirements
