Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage financial reporting for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Conduct cost analysis and budgeting for exploration and production activities to optimize resource allocation.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements tailored for the oil and gas sector.
- Oversee the reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy in transactions specific to oil and gas operations.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and forecasts for ongoing and future projects.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud in oil and gas financial operations.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries related to financial performance in the industry.
- Analyze variances between budgeted and actual figures, providing actionable insights to improve financial performance.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial legislation and tax implications specific to the oil and gas industry.
- Develop and maintain financial models to assist in investment analysis and long-term strategic planning.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with specialization in oil and gas preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting within the oil and gas power sector.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems commonly used in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, particularly for exploration and production activities.
- Strong understanding of the regulations and compliance requirements specific to the oil and gas sector.
- Fluency in English, with proficiency in a second language being an advantage, especially in regions with diverse operations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced oil and gas environment.
