  • Provide on-site engineering support during construction, testing, and commissioning of AGL systems.
  • Interpret AGL layouts, circuit drawings, and technical specifications to resolve field issues efficiently.
  • Coordinate with electrical, civil, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of AGL works with airside pavements, drainage, and cargo apron infrastructure.
  • Coordinate daily with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to align AGL installation activities with project schedules and airside access constraints.
  • Participate in site meetings, inspections, night works, and operational readiness activities.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders including airport authorities and airside operations teams.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements for airside works, including working in live airfield and cargo apron environments.
  • Identify hazards related to electrical systems, night works, and equipment installation, and support mitigation planning.
  • Promote safe work practices in compliance with airport safety management systems (SMS).
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, test results, snag lists, and commissioning documentation.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and milestone progress reports for AGL works.
  • Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), shop drawings, and material submittals related to AGL systems.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of AGL systems including photometric testing, insulation resistance testing, and system integration with control and monitoring systems.
  • Support operational readiness and airport transfer (ORAT) activities related to airside and cargo apron lighting.
  • Ensure proper handover documentation, as-built drawings, and maintenance manuals are completed.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and inspectors.
  • Ensure consistent application of inspection procedures and quality standards across the project.
  • Foster a collaborative and safety-driven team culture focused on quality and compliance.
  • Ensure all AGL works comply with ICAO Annex 14, FAA ACs, IEC standards, and local aviation authority regulations.
  • Review contractor compliance with airport authority, civil aviation, and airside operational requirements.
  • Stay current with advancements in AGL technologies and airfield lighting best practices.

What Required Skills You ll Bring:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in AGL engineering, inspection, and construction supervision on airfield projects.
  • Proven experience on airport projects with runway, taxiway, and cargo apron lighting systems.
  • Experience working in live or operational airfield environments is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of airfield ground lighting systems, CCRs, series circuits, control systems, and monitoring interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of airfield drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, testing, commissioning, and handover requirements.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage night works, and meet critical airside milestones.
  • Certification or training in AGL systems, airfield electrical works, or QA/QC.
  • Experience with cargo apron lighting coordination including high-mast lighting interfaces and apron systems.
  • Knowledge of smart AGL systems, LED airfield lighting, and advanced control systems.
