Interested in TAX FREE Role? A major global petrochemical manufacturing company seeks an APC Engineer to support the process and operations departments daily in resolving process control problems to ensure efficient plant operation and performance reporting. Applicants invited with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years process control and chemical processing experience. Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential permanent role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 58.
With offices and manufacturing plants spread across 6 continents, the Company is one of the largest global petrochemical organisations. They manufacture petrochemical products for a wide range of industries including construction, healthcare, agriculture, industrial and automotive.
Jubail is a large industrial city located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Persian Gulf. It is within easy reach of Dammam and Al Khobar and you can easily visit both Bahrain and Kuwait.
This is a residential position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days).
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for:
Administrating, configurating and maintaining the Company s versions of Aspentech APC and PIMS (IP21), Web21 and Aspen Calc., AMS and DOC4000.
Monitoring APC availability & utilization, strive to increase their attainment to make it more functional giving the maximum realization via checking loop healthiness & module validations.
Building process model for process simulation studies and supporting the Company s Plants Simulators.
Undertaking feasibility studies of advance process control based solutions such Multivariable control, software analyzer, optimizer, Alarm handling, expert systems etc. and monitoring control loop performance /Troubleshoots plants process control problems. Develop & Implement corrective actions.
Leading projects that are related to process control domain for implementation on high-level plant information system platform.
Recommending modifications to existing production reporting programs for migration to open non-proprietary platform to improve usability and/or maintainability.
Planing upgrades and identifying future interface opportunities with ERP/ Documentation system for total plant support. Participate in any type of testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up related to process control to ensure proper compliance.
Maintain impeccable process control system documentation.
Keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field.
Preferences: The successful candidate will have
Batchelor s degree in Chemical Engineering essential. Masters or PhD preferred.
A minimum of 10 years process control and chemical processing experience essential.
Strong background in Advanced Process Control essential.
Knowledge or previous experience of some/all of the following software essential:
# Aspentech APC
# PIMS (IP21)
# Web21
# Aspen Calc.
# AMS
# DOC4000.
The ability to undertake feasibility studies essential.
Strong interpersonal skills the ability to communicate to key stakeholders.
Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
