Hotel Overview:
The Swissotel Al Ghurair is a 428 rooms and 192 Apartments upper upscale property. Catering for both business and leisure clientele. The hotel is located in Deira in the heart of Dubai and within easy reach of major tourist landmarks, leisure destinations and city services. It is linked to the Al Ghurair Shopping Centre, only 3 stops away on the Dubai Metro from the Dubai World Trade Centre and a 10 minute drive from Dubai International Airport.
Assistant Director of Finance
Assist in managing all hotel accounting and financial requirements in an environment of tight control.
Summary of Responsibilities:
•Be familiar and up to date with all policies of the hotel in regards to standard practice instructions.
•Assist in maintaining a system of internal controls which will provide the most effective control of the assets and revenue of the hotel.
•Assist in maintaining all accounting records of the hotel in the manner prescribed by the Corporate Office.
•Ensure that all law and fiscal regulations of the country of location (which affect the financial matters of the hotel) are complied with.
•Ensure the safekeeping and updating of all leases and contracts and all other legal records and document which may affect the financial status of the hotel.
•Supervise at the end of the month, the closing of the books and the subsequent timely preparation of the required financial data.
•Ensure that local tax matters, including both income and other taxes, are properly handled.

Desired Candidate Profile

We are looking for a well organized and creative candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is able to display a passion for perfection and work in a dynamic environment. In addition, the candidate should possess:
• Leadership experience in accepted Accounting practices and principles required
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications andor relevant computer applications required
• University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position:
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
• Frequent sitting throughout shift
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
