Under the general guidance of the HR Manager, and within the limits of InterContinental Hotels Group policies, procedures and Human Resource Framework, responsible for managing the hotel's implements Human Resource policies and procedures, training function thus bringing Room To be yourself alive. The Asst HR Manager position impacts on the skills, knowledge and attitudes of every hotel employee and ensures the availability and use of effective resources. The position also plays a leading role in promoting the desired work culture around Our Winning Ways
Duties and Responsibilities
Assure the manning is in line with the budget and conduct meetings with departments head as needed
Prepare, manage and achieve the department's budget.
Prepare and manage a cost effective budget with measurable targets for department within the financial parameters set down by the hotel budget
Effectively monitor and analyse recruitment process and analyse variations from the budget
Gain understanding of the departmental and support your Line Manager to achieve these targets
Perform tasks as directed by the HR Manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals
Familiarize yourself with the IHG HR and Training Standards, localizing where necessary
Screen, short listing, interview & reference checking candidates for client jobs
Coordinate with department Heads to provide required HR services before and after the candidates are on board
Responsible for providing the candidates with an outstanding on boarding experience
Prepare monthly reports as required to be submitted at the property and corporate level
Co-ordinate work experience programs
Oversees the staff accommodation and HOH colleagues' facilities (wheel lounge, cafeteria, lockers )
Ensure Colleagues and Manager awareness of HR Policies and procedures
Ensures all colleagues are aware of company benefits and make these available
Regularly analyses hotel manpower requirements and recommends selection and development activities to meet those requirements
Implements and monitors an effective employee relations and welfare program in the hotel
Assists in maintaining and creating a positive atmosphere within the hotel that allows for open two way communication that ensures morale and productivity reach the highest possible levels
Deals with all problems relating to individuals in an understanding, caring and confidential manner
Prepares and submits periodic reports for management's use in accordance with Corporate and government requirements, such as turnover reports, personnel inventories, absenteeism reports, health and safety, accident reports etc.
Enforces Corporate HR policies and procedures
Maintains hotel Disciplinary Procedures, conducts disciplinary meetings and completes the necessary documentation as necessary Assist with line Colleagues counselling and career management
Initiate programs which foster good work relations such as social club and consultative committees
Enforces Corporate HR policies and procedures
Monitor the stage of new hires Provides input for probation and formal performance appraisal discussions in line with company guidelines
Familiarize yourself with the IHG HR and Training Standards, localizing where necessary
Assist and support the HR team in Personnel and Employee Relations as needed
Other tasks may be assigned according to business needs
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
holder of university degree
minimum of 3 years experience in HR in supervisory/managerial position
Excellent English skill, both oral and written
Proficient in computer operations (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of basic accounting is desirable
Presentable and a team player
