Department Definition
The role of the Event Operations department is to manage the seamless operations across the event delivery of Expo 2020. Event Operations includes the following service areas: Catering, Cleaning and Waste Management, Logistics, Transport Traffic and Parking, Site Management, Accreditation, Guest Services and Venue Operations.
Opportunity Responsibilities
To coordinate all cross functional delivery planning and integration for the Event Operations Department. Focus on forward looking and driving proactive planning ahead within the Event Operations Department.
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
- Drive the development of Event Operations Delivery plans;
- Drive the recognition of interdependencies and integration within Event Operations as well as the wider Expo 2020 and its government / commercial partners;
- Support the central development of an integrated schedule and reporting of variances against actuals;
- Support Department manpower and budget planning;
- Support the development of monthly budget forecasts for Event Operations;
- Highlight and maintain Department long term risks and ensure integration of these across the organisation;
- Maintain relationships with key Departments across Expo 2020 that require close integration;
- Review and maintain Event Operations policies and procedures;
- Support the development of Department business cases;
- Identifying key programme or project issues and initiating resolution strategies with the Delivery Management and Reporting work stream.

Advertising / PR / Event Management

Corporate Planning / Consulting / Strategy / M&A

Desired Candidate Profile

4 + years professional experience in programme planning and management;
- Bacehlors Degree within a relevant field;
- Functional knowledge across the key operational functions as well as dependencies with other business functions;
- Project management of a complex integrated work stream;
- Project support to a large departmental programme a necessity;
- Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Excel necessary;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural organisation, MENA region desirable;
- Communicates well and consistently, at Director/executive level down to large teams of workforce e.g. volunteers;
- Collaborates well with other business functions and a good integrator;
- Knowledge of a previous major event planning, coordination and deliver.
