Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Ensure compliance with all import regulations, including customs laws, tariffs, and trade agreements, to avoid penalties and delays.
  • Prepare and review import documentation, such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Track and trace shipments, proactively identifying and resolving any issues or delays that may arise during transit.
  • Analyze import data and generate reports to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including purchasing, sales, and warehouse, to coordinate import activities and meet business needs.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors, fostering strong partnerships for smooth import operations.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other vendors to secure favorable terms and optimize logistics costs.
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end import process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods, from origin to destination.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
  • Familiarity with import documentation and processes, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and systems, such as TMS and WMS.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.
