Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily rolling operations in the medium section mill.
  • Ensure production schedules are followed and achieve daily/weekly/monthly targets.
  • Monitor rolling parameters, mill setup, pass design, and product quality.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and take corrective actions to improve throughput and yield.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for smooth functioning of mill equipment and minimum downtime.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure the team follows all safety and operational procedures.
  • Train and guide shift supervisors, operators, and workers for better performance and operational discipline.
  • Analyze production data, prepare reports, and suggest improvements to management.
  • Coordinate with planning, quality, and logistics departments for smooth workflow.
  • Manage inventory of rolls, guides, consumables, and ensure timely requisition.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10–15 years of relevant experience in a steel rolling mill, preferably in medium section mills.
  • Strong understanding of rolling process parameters, roll pass design, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with mill automation, instrumentation, and basic maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.
