Position Overview
As Assistant Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising underground metro station construction, coordinating technical activities, and ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety procedures, and timelines. This role is essential to the successful execution of complex interchange stations involving deep excavation, TBM interfacing, and multi-level structural works.

Core Duties

* Support the Resident Engineer in supervising construction of underground stations and tunnels
* Conduct daily site inspections and coordinate with contractors and inspectors
* Oversee and maintain documentation, as-built records, and site instructions
* Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements
* Ensure implementation of safety and QA/QC protocols during underground works
* Monitor progress of key construction phases including cut-and-cover, top-down construction, slab casting, and MEP coordination
* Coordinate with utilities, service authorities, and interface teams
* Participate in weekly and monthly reporting on construction progress and site issues
* Assist in final handover and clearance documentation for tunnel and station components

Candidate Requirements

* Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
* 15+ years of experience in large-scale underground civil works, particularly metro station box construction
* Specialized knowledge of tunneling (TBM), deep excavation, and waterproofing systems
* Experience managing site activities for interchange stations involving structural levels, escalators, lifts, and service areas
* Knowledge of international codes and best practices in underground construction (e.g., BS, Eurocodes, ACI, ASTM)
* Strong understanding of construction safety, material testing, and compliance procedures
* Proficiency in site engineering software and Microsoft Office tools
* Excellent communication and coordination skills for interfacing with contractors, consultants, and authorities
* Prior experience in Dubai or GCC metro projects preferred
