Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Produce detailed architectural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Collaborate closely with architects and engineers to understand design intent and translate concepts into precise technical drawings.
- Revise and update existing drawings based on client feedback and project changes to maintain current and relevant documentation.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including specifications, schedules, and reports that support project execution.
- Conduct site visits to gather measurements and assess conditions, ensuring that designs are feasible and accurate.
- Utilize advanced AutoCAD techniques, such as 3D modeling and rendering, to enhance presentation and visualization of designs.
- Implement industry standards and best practices in drafting to ensure compliance and quality in all deliverables.
- Assist in project management tasks, including tracking deadlines, coordinating with team members, and ensuring timely completion of drawings.
- Engage in continuous learning of new AutoCAD features and industry trends to enhance skills and improve project outcomes.
- Provide technical support and training to junior draughtsmen and team members to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable environment.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Educational background in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field, typically holding a diploma or degree.
- Proven experience of at least 2-5 years in drafting and design roles, ideally within the construction or architectural industries.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of completed projects and design work.
- Relevant certifications in AutoCAD or drafting, such as Autodesk Certified Professional, to validate skills and expertise.
- Experience with additional design software like Revit, SketchUp, or SolidWorks is highly desirable for multidimensional projects.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines, ensuring project specifications are met.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to facilitate collaboration with diverse teams and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment, contributing positively to project dynamics.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and suggest innovative solutions during the drafting process.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the ever-evolving design industry.
