The Automotive Spare Parts Store Keeper plays a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and operation of an automotive repair facility. Tasked with managing inventory, this individual ensures that the right parts are available for mechanics to complete their repairs and service vehicles promptly. The store keeper must have strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly inventory and efficient tracking system. Adept at using catalog systems and possessing strong communication skills, they liaise with suppliers and staff to ensure seamless operations. They must have an eye for detail to assess supply levels and initiate orders when stock is running low. A background in automotive parts is highly beneficial, allowing them to identify components quickly and understand industry-specific requirements.


Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of automotive spare parts.
  • Order new parts and supplies to ensure stock levels are maintained.
  • Receive deliveries and verify the accuracy of shipments received.
  • Organize and store parts in the designated inventory area.
  • Coordinate with mechanics and service staff to provide necessary parts timely.
  • Implement stock control systems to minimize loss and eliminate wastage.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory levels, transactions, and updates.
  • Identify and classify parts needed for different types of automotive repairs.
  • Prepare parts for delivery to other departments or branches as needed.
  • Monitor stock levels and alert the management in case of discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving inventory management efficiency.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure quick delivery and rectify any defects or issues.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or relevant field.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts and the automotive repair industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for inventory purposes.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written format.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects and working in a physically demanding environment.
