Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Actively participate in Research & Development activities for UAV/UAS systems.
Design, integrate, and maintain avionics systems for multirotor, fixed-wing, VTOL, and specialized UAV platforms.
Develop, configure, and customize autopilot systems using ArduPilot, MAVLink, and associated mission control protocols.
Implement AI-driven autonomy features such as object detection, target tracking, and automated engagement.
Integrate embedded hardware (Jetson Nano, Raspberry Pi) with onboard AI processing and control systems.
Conduct simulation and validation using Gazebo, SITL, and other mission rehearsal tools.
Collaborate with software teams to develop UAV control logic, communication protocols, and flight algorithms.
Support GCS integration (QGroundControl/ or Similar) for mission planning, execution, and telemetry monitoring.
Test and evaluate integrated avionics and payload systems in both lab and field environments.
Troubleshoot avionics, mission software, and control hardware to resolve integration issues.
Prepare technical documentation for avionics integration processes, configuration parameters, and mission procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional R&D, maintenance, and flight operations teams to ensure timely and quality system delivery.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in UAV and drone development, with expertise in avionics integration, autopilot systems, and mission planning.
- Skilled in ArduPilot and MAVLink customization for autonomous mission control and UAV operations.
- Strong knowledge of AI and vision-based autonomy, including target detection, object tracking, and automated engagement logic.
- Proficient in embedded systems and RTOS for real-time UAV control applications.
- Experience with integrating AI cameras and advanced payloads for tactical and surveillance missions.
- Background in simulation environments (Gazebo, SITL) and GCS operations (QGroundControl).
- Solid understanding of control theory and flight algorithms for UAV stability and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with defense-oriented UAV applications and mission logic for tactical operations.
- Prior participation in innovative projects, competitions, or research programs related to UAV/UAS is highly advantageous.
- Innovation and development talents is a must.
- Commercial RPAS Pilot Certification is preferred.
- Trained in C++ and Python programming for UAV software development.
- Knowledge of AI model deployment on embedded hardware (e.g., Jetson Nano, Raspberry Pi).
- Exposure to cloud-based GCS integration and tactical mission control systems.
