The IT Governance team is responsible for ensuring the organization, processes, policies and decision making structures are in place within the IT environment. This includes Governance structures for key decision making, Program and Portfolio Management, Service Level Management (including incident management, problem management, service level agreements and monitoring of these on a regular basis), Project Management approach and tools, Quality Management Systems, Human Resource management, Financial Management and cost control and Performance management and tracking.
IT Governance team has initiated a program for IT Transformation, which will further impact all the above mentioned areas, with focus on improving productivity and employee engagement, increase quality and reduce turnaround times and increase ability to meet bank requirements for new products and services. This initiative utilizes Lean concepts and will bring about changes in organization and roles that need to be managed.
1. Job Purpose (Why does the job exist? What is the value delivered by the job holder to the unit?)
This role will report to the VP IT Governance and work closely with senior IT leaders to guide the Lean transformation program within Group IT. For the program to be successful, it will be important to have strong relationship building and communication skills to ensure that the organization is completely bought into the Lean philosophy.
The role must provide expertise on Lean principles and how to apply them into information technology, provide required training and coaching to up-skill management, IT subject matter experts and the wider IT staff. The role will project manage the transformation, which will be made up by a number of projects (called waves), initially alongside the consulting partner, to understand and embed the Lean IT methodology. Once the consulting engagement is then over, this role will maintain the momentum and activities to continue with the transformation activity across Group IT. Once each unit has been transformed the continuous improvement structure needs to be set up to ensure change is sustainable.
A key part of this role will be lead organization and HR changes, influencing and changing culture and mindset of teams, setting up monitoring and measurement of KPls on items such as productivity, costs, quality, turn-around time.
