1. Job Purpose
• Ensuring bakery section displays are arranged with high-quality products, presenting an appealing and fresh arrangement to attract customers.
• Mix and bake ingredients to produce breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, pies, pastries, or other baked goods and ensure baked products fulfill internal quality standards.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements for the whole area.
2. Key Accountabilities
Provide outstanding customer service to customers and always ensure that SCS is positively promoted.
Display finished/packed bakery products and pastry; and ensure that the display is presented all the time in a way which attracts customers.
Mix and bake ingredients to produce breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, pies, pastries, or other baked goods and ensure baked products fulfil internal quality standards.
Instruct bakery workers during the baking process, ensure the correct amount of ingredients is used and the baking process is accurate followed.
Check the quality of raw materials to ensure that standards and specifications are met. Evaluate quality of food ingredients or prepared foods.
Check products for quality and identify damaged or expired goods. Evaluate quality of food ingredients or prepared foods.
Participate in regular product tests regarding taste, texture, look, feel and aroma to ensure consistency in product quality and identifying areas for improvement.
Provide customers with information related to product ingredients and assist in packing and pricing items when needed.
Pack finished bakery products, price and stack the product in the display shelves. Re-arrange existing products and check expiry dates of products on the shelve to ensure freshness and best quality.
Ensure that the bakery display, working and storage area is clean and hygiene, quality, health & safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Support the development of new products for the bakery assortment of SCS, propose additional products to attract and retain customers and remaining competitive.
Receiving stock (raw material / finished products) and storing it in a safe manner.
Regularly inspect all tools, equipment and displays, ensure it is working correctly and report immediately any malfunctions or damages.
Practice safe working procedures, identify potential hazards and recommend improvements to standard procedures.
Dispose of waste as instructed and in line with the set procedures.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures and SLAs as well as laws and regulations.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
