Job Description

As a Bank Teller, you serve as a vital link between the bank and its customers, ensuring that their experience is positive and seamless. You will be responsible for efficiently handling routine service transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments. In addition, you will provide exceptional service by answering customer queries, resolving issues, and promoting banking products that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. Your role will also involve working collaboratively with other bank staff to ensure the secure, risk-free operation of the bank. Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and attending to customers banking needs promptly.
  • Process customer transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing efficiently and accurately.
  • Balance cash drawers at the end of each shift to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist customers in opening new accounts and help them through the registration process.
  • Answer customer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate banking departments as necessary.
  • Promote and explain banking products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Identify and report suspicious activities and suspected fraud to the appropriate security department.
  • Keep up-to-date with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in teller training meetings to enhance service skills and banking knowledge.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies and problems related to customer accounts and transactions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of banking operations and customer information.
  • Support other bank staff and take on additional tasks when necessary.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a bank teller or similar role in customer service is preferred.
  • Strong numerical skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to identify and resolve customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Familiarity with standard banking policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in using banking software and other related computer applications.
