Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of concrete production, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project specifications, from material intake to final product delivery.
  • Manage and optimize batching plant operations, including equipment maintenance, inventory control, and production scheduling to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and environmental regulations, fostering a safe working environment and minimizing the plant's environmental impact.
  • Lead and mentor a team of plant operators, technicians, and other personnel, providing training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze production data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production needs and control costs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in good working order and compliant with all relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and manage the plant's budget, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities to ensure profitability.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, coordinate concrete deliveries, and resolve any production-related issues.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes, implementing improvements to optimize plant performance and maintain a competitive edge.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Holds relevant certifications such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates a minimum of 5 years of experience in a concrete batching plant environment.
  • Exhibits a strong understanding of concrete mix design principles, material testing, and quality control procedures.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining batching plant equipment, including mixers, conveyors, and control systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of plant personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exhibits strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license and is able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Experience in a similar role within the GCC region would be an advantage.
