Job Description

A Behavioral Therapist plays a vital role in improving the lives of individuals facing various behavioral challenges. In this role, you will work directly with clients to identify and modify negative behaviors, developing strategies to support positive change and personal growth. By conducting assessments and creating tailored treatment plans, you will help clients manage symptoms associated with mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, or autism spectrum disorders. Your goal is to empower clients by teaching coping techniques, life skills, and social integration strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of psychological principles, compassion, and a commitment to delivering empathetic and effective care in a clinical or educational environment.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments to determine clients' specific needs and challenges.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans addressing clients' unique symptoms and behavioral goals.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions, utilizing techniques such as CBT, DBT, or ABA.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary for optimum outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and resources.
  • Educate clients families about therapy techniques to support behavior change at home.
  • Regularly document client sessions and maintain accurate, confidential records of all treatments.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute behavioral episodes.
  • Conduct group therapy sessions to foster peer support and social skills development.
  • Stay updated with industry research to apply new techniques and best practices.
  • Advocate for clients' needs within educational, medical, or social service systems.
  • Facilitate workshops or community training sessions on behavioral health topics.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related behavioral science field.
  • Master's degree in Psychology or Behavior Analysis is highly preferred.
  • Valid license .
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a behavioral therapist or counselor.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral intervention techniques and therapeutic methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with clients and families.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation.
