Job Summary

Tetra Edge is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented BIM Plumbing and Mechanical Engineer to lead the development and coordination of plumbing and mechanical systems within Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for high-rise tower projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with main contractors and a proven ability to advance plumbing and mechanical design models from LOD 300 to LOD 350, 400, and 500. This role requires expertise in plumbing and mechanical design, BIM tools, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, MEP engineers, and façade engineers, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of systems. Previous exposure to 4D, 5D, and 7D BIM applications is highly preferable, with a strong focus on high-rise tower construction.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Model Development & Coordination

• Develop and manage plumbing and mechanical BIM models for high-rise towers, ensuring the progression of design models issued by the design consultant from LOD 300 to LOD 350, 400, and 500.

• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP engineers, and façade engineers to ensure plumbing and mechanical systems are fully integrated into the overall design of high-rise projects.

• Conduct clash detection and resolve conflicts related to plumbing and mechanical systems to ensure seamless coordination with other disciplines.

• Ensure compliance with BIM standards, protocols, and project-specific requirements for high-rise tower construction.

Plumbing and Mechanical Design & Optimization

• Review and refine plumbing and mechanical designs for high-rise towers to ensure technical feasibility, energy efficiency, and compliance with project specifications.

• Optimize layouts and systems, including water supply, drainage, HVAC mechanical systems, and fire protection, to meet the unique requirements of high-rise buildings while minimizing costs and maximizing performance.

• Ensure plumbing and mechanical designs align with local regulations, codes, and standards, particularly within the UAE.

4D, 5D, and 7D BIM Applications

• Support the implementation of 4D BIM for construction sequencing and scheduling of plumbing and mechanical installations in high-rise towers.

• Contribute to 5D BIM by integrating cost data into plumbing and mechanical models for accurate cost estimation and budget tracking.

• Assist in 7D BIM applications for facilities management, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive as-built plumbing and mechanical models for operational use post-construction.

Documentation & Deliverables

• Prepare and deliver high-quality plumbing and mechanical BIM deliverables, including shop drawings, schedules, and as-built models for high-rise tower projects.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all plumbing and mechanical BIM processes and outputs.

• Ensure timely submission of plumbing and mechanical BIM deliverables in compliance with project deadlines and quality standards.

Collaboration & Communication

• Act as the primary plumbing and mechanical BIM point of contact, collaborating with clients, consultants, and internal teams to address project requirements and challenges for high-rise towers.

• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on plumbing and mechanical BIM processes and tools.

• Facilitate effective communication between plumbing, mechanical, architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure project success.

Process Optimization & Innovation

• Continuously evaluate and enhance plumbing and mechanical BIM workflows, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy for high-rise tower projects.

• Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and industry trends, implementing innovative solutions to drive project success.
