Supervision of Subordinates
Organise and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of the activity is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development as well as foster Qatarisation as assist in achievin Qatarisation targets.
Budgets and Plans
Contribute to the preparation of the budget end monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.
Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
Bitumen Operations Activities
Direct and supervise the day to day activities of assigned staff in bitumen operations area in order to ensure that all supplies are carried out as per the set plans and guidelines based on customers' orders. Ensure cost effective operation of bitumen plant in accordance with company's policies and procedures. Prepare the working schedules and ensure its compliance with the local market demand.
Supervise the handling, recording and processing of documents relating to Bitumen Operations in order to keep track of activities and analyse the same.
Monitor the bitumen operations and highlight any differences and action to be taken to conform to the standard.
Receive supplier order confirmation and coordinate with the carrier company to ensure bitumen plant readiness to receive bitumen product ensuring safety and efficiency of operations.
On arrival of the vessel liaise with the vessel staff and storage tank staff to ensure smooth and timely offloading.
Check the accuracy of the calculations before and after offloading to ensure correct quantity of delivered bitumen product and to investigate any variances exceeding acceptable level.
Oversee and observe all bitumen transfer operations to ensure correct configurations and installations before commencing product transfer and unloading.
Ensure awareness of the bitumen staff and contractors on the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and nature of chemicals used for production of bituminous products to all bitumen staff and contractors.
Ensure awareness of the bitumen staff and contractors on the specifications, schedules, logs, and required changes to equipment controls to mix and bled procedures of chemicals like polymer (SBS), kerosene, acid and emulsifiers with bitumen 60/70 grade.
Continuous Improvement
Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account 'international leading practice'improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Implement departmental policies, systems and procedure so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Ensure that the bitumen operations activities are carried out in line with Qatari laws, statutory requirements and International Industrial and environmental norms.
Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment
Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Ensure adherence to the company's safety procedures and policies during normal and emergency situations as well as ensure that the premises are free of any potential hazards.
Train and develop new staff operating firefighting equipment in emergencies & use of PPE.
Management Reports
Prepare departmental statements and reports timely and accurately to meet Woqod and department requirements, policies and standards.
Submit reports on maintenance activities and accidents on other subjects as well as required by management.
