Business Development Analyst/Manager - Defense
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting company growth by creating business development opportunities and executing every step of the sales pipeline. S/he will be responsible for managing key customers, identifying opportunities for sales and strategic partnerships in the defense industry. This role requires a very active person with strong business acumen who is comfortable reporting to several managers and coordinating/aligning stakeholders. Candidates can apply for a manager position if they have significant military exposure and demonstrated sales results.
Manage a portfolio of accounts for customers in the military, police and defense/aerospace industry
Coordinate with the technical team to ensure accuracy in bids, product design, and delivery timeline
Develop a strong sales pipeline and deliver contracts from strategic planning to tactical execution
Keep management informed of sales, account performance, and product execution/delivery
Coordinate with team on marketing materials and business development events (trade shows, etc.)
Maintain customer relationships and understand their company/business needs for future sales
Solicit customer feedback on product/experience and provide structured analysis with internal recommendations for improving performance - bid process, design phase, delivery and integration
Identify potential strategic partnerships with key suppliers, clients, or government stakeholders
Maintain excellent knowledge of clients, competitors, industry to identify opportunities/threats
Build contacts and knowledge of the defense ecosystem - manufacturers, stakeholders, regulators
Keep aware of relevant government regulations and strictly adhere to compliance procedures
Requirements & Experience: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or International Security. In lieu of bachelor's degree, significant experience serving in the UAE military or law enforcement can be considered. Preference given for candidates with military, civil defense, or technology experience. Excellent spoken/written communication skills in English/Arabic are mandatory. Fluency in business reporting and account management is required. Understanding of UAE military/defense community and experience with U.S. export licenses will be critical to the job. All candidates will be expected to maintain strict adherence to corporate compliance procedures and non-disclosure agreements. Local networks and start-up experience a plus.
