Job Summary:
The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to generate new and retain business opportunities for the company, by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services
2. Seek out the appropriate contact in an organization
3. Generate leads and cold call prospective customers
4. Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
5. Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
6. Think strategically seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
7. Work strategically carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
8. Retain existing client by handling all related matters during the policy year.
9. Draw up client contracts depending on the size of company, this task may be completed by someone else or agreements may not be as formal
10. Have a good understanding of the businesses products or services and be able to advise others about them
11. Train new members if required by the management, arranging attending double visits with new members if required.
12. Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and handling policy renewals.
13. Seek ways of improving the way the business operates
14. Attend training, seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
15. Help to plan sales campaigns including sales support to new sales comers if needed
16. Create a sales pipeline, daily and weekly report including weekly visit planner
17. Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management.
Work Experience Requirements
Insurance Experience is a must
Minimum 2 to 3 year s UAE experience in Insurance Sector
Bachelor s degree required or equivalent through relevant experience.
Skills & Competencies
• Good command of written and spoken English is a must
• Good knowledge of insurance concepts
• Good knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Respect and maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Perform his/her duties with honesty and due diligence
• Proactive and results oriented whilst ensuring high quality of work
• Advanced level of customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions
• Able to work in a multicultural environment and promote teamwork and knowledge sharing in order to achieve goals and deliverables
