The manager will work with the Sales &
Marketing team to evaluate areas of opportunity for sales. This role will
collaborate with Company proposal team to help facilitate a winning bid strategy
based on customer product needs and evaluation techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Possess a broad
background to be able to conduct economic studies and energy market-related
research while also understanding the technical aspects of our products,
including gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators. Understanding of US
electricity market constructs and segmentation, including competitive power
markets and vertically integrated utility markets. Maintain, update, utilize,
and report results from existing Company economic models, including life cycle
cost models, dispatch models, and discounted cash flow models for bid strategy
formulation, as well as for strategic planning purposes, internal studies, and
• Create customer-specific
models to support the decision for which products to offer into the marketplace
as well as analyze target pricing and performance levels consistent with
customer evaluation criteria.
• Assist in the creation of
models to support analysis of Company products in the energy markets, including
new EPA regulatory requirements, evolving deregulated market structures, and
impacts from volatility in fuel markets.
• Lead analytic efforts for
new technology advancements and provide benchmarks on competitors products and
• Assist with synthesizing
models and market material to explain market needs and customer
requirement/trends for strategy meetings with commercial team.
• Lead strategy meetings
with commercial team related to business planning models and product
• Collect data, organize
content, and help prepare presentation material for Company leadership.
• Ability and interest to
travel up to 30% to support customer meetings, Company team meetings or other
events as required.
• A thorough understanding of proposal evaluation
techniques in the power industry is preferred, including the ability to create
and utilize life cycle cost of electricity models or discounted cash flow
models. Also to have a general understanding of production cost models or grid
models (such as Plexos), and other general approaches that utilities, IPPs, and
investment capitalists take towards evaluating power projects. Must be able to
develop market templates for our products that explain our business and our
direction, and has the ability to summarize complex data in an effective

• Ability to work

Academic and Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Engineering,
Business, Finance, Economics, or related field from college or university
• Minimum (7) years of related experience and/or
training is required.
• A technical and
commercial background is highly preferred, as the manager must understand both
the fundamentals of energy generation (output, heat rate, emissions, dispatch,
etc.) as well as how these performance specifications are valued by the
customer; this includes both GT and CC performance as well as upgrades.
• Experience working as an
evaluator of service or new equipment proposals for power companies either
directly for the company or as a consultant is highly desired.
• Experience with statistical modeling and software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
