Business Development Manager will hold responsibility to generate business in the onshore sector in Qatar by identifying new customers and maintaining existing relationships. Responsible for marketing all the products and services to the Oil and Gas Operating Companies in Qatar.
This role will be responsible for identifying, developing, negotiating and closing new contracts across the country. Will be expected to utilise existing network of contacts to expand the company’s project portfolio in Qatar.
Candidate must be proven business development professional with knowledge of onshore product lines, established networks and demonstrated ability to lead a pursuit of technology led FEED and EPC projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Lead the Business Development effort to capture new onshore business in Qatar
• Monitor market conditions, product innovations and trends, competitors' products, pricing and sales strategies to maximize MDR’s competitive stance;
• Stay abreast of business strategies and trends to effectively acquire new business and to maximize revenue growth;
• Schedule regular face-to-face meetings and sales calls with key customers to assess short and long-term needs
• Analyse market research and sales forecasts in order to develop sales targets, plans, and unique differentiated opportunities
• Support MDR offshore and technology sales teams to ensure a consistent approach to the market
• Evaluate Inquiries
• Make bid/no bid recommendations
• Lead development of the win strategy for specific opportunities
• Review contract terms and conditions and coordinate with the legal and financial department
• Participate in negotiating contracts
• Update McDermott customer database on a regular basis.
• Conduct Technical and Commercial discussions with Customers.
• Participate in Company presentations with customers; attend seminars and business promotion events.
• Organize and attend trade show exhibit booths for McDermott
• Travel to Customer sites as necessary to support proposals and sales.
• Gather business intelligence to aid preparation of proposals.
• Map Client’s organisations to identify key decision makers and draw up zipper plan to ensure MDR relationship owners are in place at every level
• Develop contacts within Client organisations and facilitate high level meetings between McDermott senior management and the Client.
• Ensures customers’ questions are addressed in a timely and professional manner;

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, MBA is good to have but not compulsory
• Must have experience working in the Middle East and be willing to travel internationally and across the region.
• Should have a proven track record of success in International sales and business development.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with in the petrochemical and refining industry
• Must have exposure to technology based solutions to the EPC oil and gas market Must have experience in selling various downstream technology based solutions to operators
• Must have experience dealing with large EPC contractors and operating companies.
• Must have the ability to successfully negotiate multimillion dollar contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiating skills
• Balance of strong technical and commercial capabilities
• Excellent communication, strong selling, negotiation and influencing skills.
• High standards of integrity and confidentiality.
