1 Job Summary
The candidate shall have strong oil trading and business development skills. It is a must that this Trader comes with a network and a portfolio, and be able to trade on physical cargoes and be familiar with paper/derivatives.
The Trader will be working on both trading as well as business development in the Gulf region for larger accounts.
The Trader will be responsible for delivering an annual margin uplift through the purchase/sale of assigned commodities, as well as optimization of assigned transportation and storage assets.
Besides trading and business development in this region it is also expected that the successful candidates will participate in training and guidance of less experienced and junior Traders.
The role is based in Dubai and only candidates already based in Dubai will be considered for this role
2 Responsibilities
¢ Conduct day-to-day activities of oil products trading including: track and monitor world market movements
¢ Source, develop and manage domestic and international supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted supply.
¢ Establish and sustain strong relationships with relevant industries parties and counterparties to develop business opportunities within the oil trading arena.
¢ Negotiate deals for purchase/sale of oil products supply on a spot/term basis according to guidelines given and within limits of authority.
¢ Maintain timely and accurate records in the relevant systems and communicate trades of the day to the relevant parties.
¢ Interact with relevant departments in the company involved in the trading/commercial activity. Work closely with colleagues throughout the internal departments and other subsidiaries within the Organization.
¢ Gather and report competitive intelligence on underlying supply and demand forces impacting assigned region.
¢ Support trading strategies by using fundamental model analysis or trades with reputable counterparties.
¢ Schedule the movement of products to the customer and coordinate logistical arrangements to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of shipments.
¢ Work with other traders to implement new trading strategies and maximize the value of existing strategies
¢ Interface with the regional offices on operational decisions & resolution of issues
¢ Monitor and follow all of contractual, operational and financial aspects of each closed deal until the deal is fulfilled.
¢ Develop, maintain and enhance the relationships with third parties / companies / associates, including terminals, shipping companies, surveyors, and marketing businesses.
3 Requirements / Qualifications
3.1 Essential
¢ Master / Bachelor s degree in business, finance, accounting or economics from an accredited college or university, or courses in energy, refining, marine transportation, or relevant.
¢ At least 5 years of work experiences in the oil trading industry.
¢ Familiar with Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia oil products marketing.
¢ Excellent communication and influencing skills.
¢ High drive and strong oil commercial acumen.
¢ Strong Analytical Skills and Commercial Awareness
3.2 Desirable
¢ Experience in future trading and use of derivative instruments is a plus.
¢ Knowledge of oil trading risk management and hedging strategies.
¢ Fuel oil (or other petroleum product) blending experience.
