Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with the Project Manager to identify and fulfill local procurement needs for both cash and credit purchases.
• Source reliable and cost-effective suppliers in the local market; visit vendors and markets as necessary.
• Manage cash imprest funds from the Finance Department and submit detailed weekly expense reports.
• Handle urgent material requests from project engineers and ensure timely procurement.
• Liaise with the Storekeeper to generate Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) and process Purchase Orders (POs).
• Maintain accurate records of all cash and credit-based purchases.
• Utilize MS Excel and Oracle ERP software effectively for procurement tracking.
• Hold a valid UAE driving license.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, delivery schedules, and terms without compromising quality.
Core Competencies:
• Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and select local suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Negotiation: Secure favorable terms and conditions through effective communication and bargaining.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, anticipate material requirements, and prevent shortages.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain long-term partnerships with reliable suppliers.
• Order Management: Process POs, track deliveries, and resolve any product or delivery issues.
• Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new suppliers.
• Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities through bulk purchasing or alternate sourcing.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed procurement activity reports and maintain transparency in all transactions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience handling cash purchases and maintaining accurate expense documentation.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities to meet project deadlines.
• In-depth knowledge of local supplier networks and UAE market regulations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software (Oracle preferred).
• Commercial acumen to evaluate supplier performance and purchasing costs.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with project and finance teams.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar role within the UAE
• Relocation: Must be willing to relocate within the UAE as required
• Eligibility: Only candidates currently residing in the UAE will be considered
