Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Buying Coordinator supports the Buyer in sourcing, selecting, and managing home category products. The role ensures smooth coordination between suppliers, internal teams, and stores to achieve optimal product availability, quality, and pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Buyer in sourcing home category products (furniture, décor, kitchenware, textiles, etc.).
- Coordinate product samples, specifications, and approvals.
- Prepare product lists, cost sheets, and buying documentation.
- Support in product selection, pricing, and category planning.
- Communicate with local and international suppliers for quotations, negotiations, and order follow-ups.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely shipments and deliveries.
- Maintain updated vendor files and product contracts.
- Monitor stock levels, product performance, and sell-through reports.
- Coordinate with the planning and warehouse teams for replenishments and stock allocation.
- Update product details in the system (SKU creation, descriptions, pricing, and barcodes).
- Support visual merchandising teams with product information and guidelines.
- Assist with store queries regarding product availability, pricing, or specifications.
- Prepare weekly sales reports, range analysis, and competitor pricing checks.
- Handle documentation for imports, quality checks, and product compliance.
- Ensure accurate filing and maintenance of department records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or coordination roles (home category preferred).
- Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of retail systems (ERP, POS, or merchandise planning tools) is an advantage.
