Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform fiber optic splicing (fusion & mechanical) for single-mode and multi-mode cables
- Carry out FOC installation, cable pulling, dressing, and termination
- Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, and prepare test reports
- Install and terminate fiber optic patch panels, joint closures, and ODFs
- Read and interpret shop drawings, layouts, and schematics
- Identify faults, perform troubleshooting, and rectification works
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors for daily activities
- Maintain tools, splicing machines, and testing equipment properly
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma / ITI in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience as a Fiber Optic Splicer / FOC Technician
- Strong experience in fusion splicing and fiber optic cable termination
- Proficient in OTDR testing, power meter testing, and fault identification
- Experience in ELV, telecom, infrastructure, or district cooling projects
- Good understanding of fiber optic drawings, layouts, and schematics
- Ability to work independently and under site conditions
- Knowledge of safety procedures, work permits, and site HSE requirements
- Physically fit to work on-site, in chambers and trenches
- Good coordination skills with engineers, supervisors, and technicians
- UAE/GCC experience preferred
- Immediate joiners will be an added advantage
