E. Support to Integration and Testing Teams
A. Detailed Drawing Preparation
Prepare detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies and engineering drawings for aerospace structures, propulsion components, test articles, and ground support equipment, under the guidance of senior designers.
Produce complete drawing packages including part drawings, assembly drawings, and associated BOMs, ensuring compliance with applicable drafting standards and internal drawing conventions.
B. Tolerancing and GD&T
Apply GD&T principles to define dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and inspection requirements on manufacturing drawings for aerospace components. Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure correct fit, alignment, and assembly.
Review drawings for conformance with machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly constraints, and coordinate with the design team to resolve manufacturability issues prior to drawing release.
C. Supplier Liaison and On-Site Support
Act as the primary point of contact with manufacturing suppliers and subcontractors, visiting supplier facilities in person to follow up on production progress, clarify drawing requirements, and ensure technical intent is correctly understood and implemented.
Conduct incoming inspection of manufactured parts against engineering drawings, flag non-conformances, and work with suppliers to agree and document disposition, including concessions and rework instructions, under the guidance of the responsible engineer.
D. Drawing Control and Technical Documentation
Maintain drawing registers and support document control activities, ensuring drawings are correctly numbered, revised, and issued in accordance with the programme’s configuration management process. Prepare and update BOMs and assembly instructions.
Support design reviews including PDR, CDR and manufacturing readiness reviews by preparing drawing packages and ensuring traceability between requirements, design decisions and final drawings.
E. Support to Integration and Testing Teams
Support test article preparation, hardware assembly, and integration activities, working alongside propulsion, structures, instrumentation and test teams. Assist with troubleshooting of fit and assembly issues identified during integration.
Relay feedback from integration and testing activities back to the design team, and support the incorporation of lessons learned into updated drawings and documentation.
