Khalid Al-Saqabi , HR Manager at Cameron Al Rushaid in Saudi Arabia speaks to us about his professional journey , hobbies, and advice in Covid-19 times. Here’s what he had to say:
Please share your professional journey with us and how did you reach where you are.
I started my professional journey in 1996 with Material Management & Administration for Arabian Chemical Co. (Latex), Jubail. I worked with many companies across Saudi Arabia and by 2008, I was a Recruitment Manager with Saudi Readymix Concrete Co.in KHOBAR.
In 2011, I became Head of Human Resources & Administration for Erne Fitting Middle East in Jubail. I worked with Al Qaryan Steel Co. in Dammam and Sofcon in Khobar city before I finally joined Cameron Alrushaid in 2017, where I am currently.
Which aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
Mostly recruitment and career advancements.
What is the best part about working in your company?
We have a very flat organization structure where no hierarchy is applied on day to day business, from the GM all the way to the operator.
Keeping all communications open and straight-forward is our policy.
What is your favorite way to de-stress after a long day at work?
I usually commute by riding my bicycle and I believe that is one-way to keep fit and away from stress!

I recently finished reading “The Fisherman’s Tomb” by John O’Neill
Do you live by any particular motto?
A tried and tested motto that I live by is ‘Listen before talking’.
What advice would you like to give to the jobseekers who are struggling to find a job during the times of COVID-19?
Do not give up! It is a struggle that will soon be over.
