Cast Technician

Prepare, apply, and remove casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices as prescribed by physicians.

Assist orthopedic surgeons and physicians during procedures requiring immobilization.

Instruct patients and families on proper care and maintenance of casts and splints.

Monitor patients for signs of complications such as swelling, pressure sores, or restricted circulation.

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sterilization of casting materials and work areas.

Ensure proper fit, comfort, and function of orthopedic devices.

Record and maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed and materials used.

Stay updated on new casting techniques, materials, and safety practices in orthopedic care.

Diploma or certification as a Cast Technician or in Orthopedic Technology.

Proven experience working in an orthopedic or clinical setting.

Strong knowledge of various casting and splinting materials and techniques.

Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation teams.

Excellent patient care, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient comfort and professional conduct.
