Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for category growth and optimization, driving strategic decision-making.
- Develop and implement category plans, including product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize profitability and market share.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of products and services.
- Conduct regular competitor analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and emerging trends to inform category strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimize stockouts and overstock situations, optimizing supply chain efficiency.
- Prepare and present category performance reports, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of product catalogs and online listings, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct regular store visits and audits to assess product placement, merchandising, and overall category presentation.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, new product developments, and consumer preferences to maintain a competitive edge.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in category management, buying, or a related field.
- Proven ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to make informed decisions.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and online product management.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach, with a passion for driving category growth and profitability.
- Experience in the retail industry is highly preferred, demonstrating a deeper understanding of the market.
