The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides both operational and programmatic support to the organization. The CFO supervises the finance & accounting unit and is the chief financial spokesperson for the organization. The CFO reports directly to the Owner & the GM and directly assists on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and the securing of new funding.
Job Description
1.In charge of the overall financial strategy
2.Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization's mission and growth plans.
3.Coordinates and supervises all financial and accounting operations e.g. credits, expenditures, account collection, sales, purchasing etc
4.Train the Finance Unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
5.Work with the Owner & GM on the strategic vision, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.
6.Provides financial advice on the overall corporate financial position.
7.Support effective strategic decision making for the company as a whole
Manage the company s accounting and financial control functions and teams.
8.Ensure the accuracy and timely preparation of monthly results, forecasts, yearly budget, financial statements regarding the VAT, Salaries and Balance sheets.
9.Analyze expenses in terms of actual outcome: contractual cost, benchmark, productivity, etc.
10.Ensure proper treasury management including company funding, utilization of cash, banking relationship, etc.
11.Effectively plan cash flow needs based on assumptions made and Identify risks and opportunity areas to the forecasts.
12.Review merchandise performance in terms of actual results: sales volumes, margins, supplier benefits%, cash flow from operations, etc.
13.Review and challenge monthly results and forecasts of all the stores
14.Develop/Guarantee the respect of procedures (including accounting procedures) across all the stores and head office
15.Developing, enhancing and promoting a strong internal control environment throughout the company
16.Provide ongoing performance related advice for the General Manager and other senior managers.
17.Ensure overall control of all financial transactions reporting to the Owner and the GM.
18.Ensure respect of the regulatory requirements regarding all the company s financial affairs regarding the government.
19.Work with the retail Ops & Commercial teams to produce robust budgets and forecasts for all sales and cost areas
20.Provide weekly performance reporting to the retail team highlighting trends and opportunities to assist in improving profits, margins and reducing costs.
21.Ensure all weekly/periodic data is collected and imputed and period end numbers produced
22.Perform any other duties within the scope of work as assigned by the owner
LANGUAGE: Arabic & English
EXPERIENCE: 10 years of experience in Retail Finance Management
Experience in Retail, in particular store and merchandise management
Solid experience in ERP and POS systems
Knowledge of MS Office, particularly modeling in Excel
Good work organization and team management
Investment appraisal process and capital budgeting
Good analytical thinking Initiative
BA in Finance, Accounting or similar. MBA is a plus
