Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Chemical Blending Plant Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining blending and packaging equipment used in the production of oilfield chemicals. This role ensures safe handling of raw materials, accurate blending as per formulations, quality control of finished products, and adherence to HSE standards within the plant. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Operate and monitor chemical blending, mixing, and packaging equipment. • Accurately measure, weigh, and transfer raw materials according to batch formulations. • Conduct in-process and final quality checks (pH, specific gravity, viscosity, appearance, etc.) to ensure products meet specifications. • Maintain proper records of batch production, raw material usage, and finished product quantities. • Load and unload raw materials, chemicals, and finished products safely. • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, including safe handling of hazardous materials. • Calibrate and maintain blending, filling, and weighing equipment. • Assist in inventory management of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products. • Report equipment malfunctions, quality deviations, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly. • Support continuous improvement, housekeeping, and plant safety initiatives.________________________________________ Qualifications & Skills: • High school diploma, technical diploma, or equivalent; additional training in chemical operations is a plus. • 2–5 years of experience in chemical blending, oilfield services, or related manufacturing/industrial operations. • Knowledge of chemical handling, mixing processes, and quality control procedures. • Ability to read and follow blending formulations, work instructions, and safety data sheets (SDS). • Forklift and material-handling equipment experience preferred. • Strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and teamwork. • Basic computer literacy for reporting and inventory systems. ________________________________________ Work Environment: • Plant-based role with exposure to chemicals, equipment, and industrial noise. • Use of PPE (gloves, goggles, coveralls, respirators, etc.) is mandatory. • Shift work and overtime may be required based on production schedules.
