Supervision of chemical preparation and optimize the chemical dozing
Maintains daily, monthly, yearly chemical consumption records and reviews the same with respect to plant production and produce summary reports to the Head of Chemistry
Closely monitors plant process and performance parameters of each unit where chemical treatment and control are involved.
Supervision of water treatment plant operation and unloading of bulk chemicals
Acquires information about Plant Process Chemistry;
Performs demineralization, potable water, boiler, condensate, sea water, outfall and cooling water quality testing for investigative purpose and initiates corrective measures deemed necessary;
Uses scientific rules and methods to solve problems under the supervision of the Head of Chemistry;
Manages the process of getting drinking water samples reports from EXOVA laboratory and update data internally..
Reviews and records the Shifts Chemist logbook information into internal TTEOM system and report abnormalities to Head of Chemistry and raises notification in MAXIMO, then take action if/when required
Completes all technical data, analysis results and operational reports and produce daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly reports to be sent to the Regulatory and Supervision Bureau (RSB).
Periodically checks online instrumentation in plants where faulty ones are notified through the Maximo.
Coordinates with stores / procurements dept for chemical consumption withdrawals and safe stock procurement through the Maximo system.
Identifies problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;
Conducts tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance;
Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making;
Evaluates information to determine compliance with Standards using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with Laws, Regulations and Standards;
Understands the technical and quality Standards for all laboratory and sampling activities;
Executes opportunities to improve Plant Chemistry and water management performance;
Implements all routines and non-routine laboratory and field water analysis;
Conducts site and equipment inspections during annual maintenance
Preparation of technical HSE reports required periodically to be sent to the Regulatory Authorities and interested parties (ADWEA, ADWEC, EAD, GDF Suez and Total, Statistics dept, NEWRC).
Undertakes the writing of procedure that will ensure the compliance with ISO14001 and OHSAS18001, Abu Dhabi EHSMA standard, and act as a team member in EHSMS development & implementation.
Ensures that the procedures are understood and well applied.
Keeps all relevant information available for auditors or mother companies representatives(air, water, wastes, soil)
Strives to maintain an injury-free environment;
Assists the Head of Chemistry in ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations;
Performs duties relating to the Facilities Environmental Quality Assurance Program;
Filing and associated documents management of environmental and water treatment reports, readings and other documents;
Assists the Head of Chemistry in preparing monthly operations and Environmental Reports (Environment performance, Air emission, Discharged water, bromide analysis)
Participates in the Plant Training and Qualification Program;
Assists the Plant HSE Manager in ensuring compliance with all HSE Regulations. Applies HSE Policies and Procedures and continually strives to improve all HSE Performance;
Disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
English is essential: excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
Must be flexible: willing to work long hours, weekends and be on call (periodically);
Arabic is an advantage;
Must be a team player;
A pro-active and flexible approach to the presented challenges is required;
b. Technical skills:
Computer literate: a high degree of business computing applications such as databases, word processors and spreadsheets, etc.;
Knowledge of chemical composition, structure and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques and disposal methods;
Proven practical application of all field and laboratory testing techniques;
Understands inorganic water chemistry as it relates to the proper operation of desalination, mixed bed demineralizers, steam generation and cooling water systems;
Training in instrumental analysis procedures, including, but not limited to: titrations, spectrophotometer analysis and ion selective analyses;
A mathematical background with the skills required to make adjustments to the Water Chemistry Program based upon analytical testing results is a pre-requisite;
Demonstrates ability and experience in the operation and/or calibration of analyzers such as UV Spectrophotometer, AAS, Ph meter, ORP meter, etc., utilized in the maintenance of a Power and Desalination Plant Water Chemistry Program;.

Bachelor s degree in Chemistry or Diploma in Chemical Engineering
