Responsibilities and Duties:
Chief Accountant will be responsible to manage the Admin Accounting team including complete overview of Balance sheet Reconciliation and disbursements as well as focus on interdepartmental and vendor relations. The Chief Accountant will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures and continually review the process and procedures to maximize impact and efficiency.
Comply with the company s policies and procedures
Problem-solving abilities; recognizes and researches problems and identifies their underlying causes and recommends and implements solutions
Coordinate External Audit, preparation of the Financial Statement and Actuarial Valuation review
Assist with internal audit activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
Assist in budget preparation, review with Head of Department before finalization.
Thorough monthly review of the balance sheet to ensure reconciliations are performed and balances are current.
Ensure the balance sheets reconciliation are comprehensive and complete for the reporting period and account
Ensure the activities and account balances are appropriately classified, reported and disclosed
Monthly Payroll review is performed and prepare breakdown of Expatriate payroll report for International Compensation & Benefits team
Monitor and have a clear understanding of Hypothetical Tax.
Oversee and review the Accounts Payable and disbursements, ensure all payments are accruals are current. Be the first point of escalation.
Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and accurate journal entries.
Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
Monitor expenditures and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
Assist Heads of the Department to improve their financial awareness and provide them with relevant financial information for their operations
Respond to inquiries from associates and vendors in a timely fashion.
Management, coordination and development of the team.
Provide continuous support and guidance to the accounting team.
Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in relevant field
Minimum 3 years experience in management
Big 4 or Hotel experience preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Consistent, accurate, thorough with an eye for details and aptitude for numbers
History of consistently delivering business results
Experience in complex data analysis and financial modeling
Able to motivate and effectively manage the team and lead by example
Ability to lead a team and processes to meet ad-hoc and reoccurring deliverables
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Prior experience assisting a team in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment a plus
Strong business and financial acumen
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; able to take complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner
Effective problem-solving abilities; recognizes and researches problems and identifies their underlying causes and recommends and implements solutions
Excellent organizational skills; effective in planning, prioritizing and managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
Excellent communication skills; communicates effectively both orally and in writing; listens to others and effectively comprehends information
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to build and maintain key relationships; able to influence others and function effectively in a collaborative work environment
