Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial operations of the FMCG company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Lead financial strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with FMCG business objectives, driving profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Oversee financial planning & analysis: Direct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to provide insights for informed decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Manage financial reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and regulatory requirements specific to the FMCG industry.
  • Optimize working capital: Develop and implement strategies to improve cash flow, manage inventory, and optimize trade terms within the FMCG supply chain.
  • Drive cost control & efficiency: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across all areas of the business, focusing on operational efficiencies and margin improvement.
  • Manage risk & compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
  • Lead mergers & acquisitions (M&A): Evaluate and manage potential M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation, and post-merger integration within the FMCG space.
  • Provide financial leadership: Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • Support business partnerships: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
  • Enhance Financial Systems: Implement and maintain financial systems and technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities for the FMCG environment.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk to optimize the company's financial performance.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to provide accurate and timely information to senior management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and execute strategic business plans and initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Master's Degree Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Education: Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
  • Qualifications: Proven experience in financial leadership roles within the FMCG industry, demonstrating a track record of success.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CFA are highly desirable, showcasing expertise and commitment.
  • Industry Experience: Extensive experience (15+ years) in the FMCG sector, with deep understanding of its financial complexities.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Nationality Preference: Open to all nationalities, with a preference for candidates familiar with the regional market.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in other languages relevant to the target market is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and data analytics tools.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships.
  • Personal Qualities: Strategic thinker, results-oriented, strong business acumen, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Industry-Fresh fruits and vegetables, FMCG, poultry, meat, seafood, frozen food, restaurants, hotels, etc
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices.
  • Experience in strategic financial planning and execution.
