Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water-cooled and air-cooled chillers.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and control systems.
  • Conduct regular system checks, pressure tests, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure all chiller units are operating efficiently and within specified parameters.

Installation & Commissioning:

  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new chiller systems and related HVAC components.
  • Review and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Ensure proper refrigerant charging, electrical connections, and control settings.

Troubleshooting & Reporting:

  • Identify mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, service reports, and records of repairs and parts used.
  • Report recurring issues to supervisors and recommend long-term solutions.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to company safety policies and local regulations regarding refrigerants and equipment handling.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) during all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and energy efficiency standards.

Coordination:

  • Work closely with the maintenance team, contractors, and suppliers for spare parts and service support.
  • Assist in training junior technicians or helpers when required.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in chiller maintenance and repair (preferably Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and refrigerants (R134a, R407c, R410a, etc.).
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
