Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator with a strong background in building construction projects. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of UAE experience in estimation and tendering, with proven expertise in using Candy software. This role requires a professional who can provide accurate cost estimates, analyze tender documents, and support the commercial and project management teams in achieving competitive bids and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for building projects.
- Prepare bills of quantities (BOQ), rate analyses, and cost breakdowns using Candy software.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to obtain accurate pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractor works.
- Conduct site visits when required to gather information for estimation.
- Develop and maintain a database of rates, suppliers, and subcontractors for reference in future tenders.
- Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
- Identify potential risks and value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs.
- Support tender submissions, clarify post-tender queries, and assist in negotiations when required.
- Provide accurate handover documentation to project teams after award.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimation within the UAE construction industry (buildings sector).
- Proficiency in Candy software (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of local construction market, pricing trends, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects in the UAE.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and local tendering regulations.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
