Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies tailored for civil engineering projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities in delivering quality materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, focusing on achieving the best terms while maintaining strong relationships.
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to understand material requirements and timelines, facilitating seamless procurement processes.
- Prepare and maintain accurate procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier correspondence.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement efficiency without compromising quality.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes that could impact procurement practices and supplier selection.
- Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.
- Facilitate training and development for junior procurement staff to build a knowledgeable and skilled team.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, providing a solid foundation in engineering principles.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement within the civil engineering sector, showcasing hands-on industry knowledge.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred to demonstrate expertise.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects, highlighting capability in complex procurement scenarios.
- Familiarity with local and international procurement regulations, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, enhancing efficiency in procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to assess data and make informed procurement decisions.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
