CLINICAL DIETITIAN I King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (Gen. Org.)

1. Uses standards of practice, evaluates nutrition status of patients and prescribes, implements, evaluates (initial and ongoing), and documents an appropriate nutritional care plan on a timely manner.

2. Calculates patients nutritional needs to determine the optimal nutritional supplement for both oral and tube feeding.

3. Contributes to an inter-disciplinary approach to patient care. Attends ward rounds and team conferences to exchange information related to patient care and discharge planning.

4. Educates patients and family members on appropriate diet modification and provides educational materials accordingly.

5. Initiates or participates in quality improvement activities and clinical research to enhance nutrition care that is safe and effective.

6. Provides nutrition education and supervision to dietetic interns, Saudi Career Development Program (SCDP), participants, or medical/nursing staff.

7. Acts as a resource dietitian in the specialty area and for other health care professionals.

8. Conducts in-services on nutrition updates or case studies for Nutrition Services (NS) department and other Hospital staff.

9. Conducts nutrition education for the community and participates in Hospital Quality Day and awareness days as assigned.

10. Highlights Food-Drug interaction and document to Clinical staff & in the Medical chart.
