Roles & Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE To: Assistant Chief of Nursing Affairs/Program Director BASIC FUNCTION: In collaboration with medical and nursing staff, is responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning and implementation and evaluation of care to specific patient populations. Functions as a specialist nurse to provide support and education to staff and patients in the specific specialty areas. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: *Provides assessment, plan of care and evaluation of specific patient population and provides follow up care as necessary. *Acts as a consultant to the multidisciplinary team during the patients treatment. *Coordinates and documents patient care utilizing the nursing care plan, medical records, teaching material and patient teaching words. *Develops and coordinates written and verbal educations 1 programs for nursing staff in conjunction with Nursing Development and Saudization (NDS) personnel. *Coordinates and participates in routine patient care review meetings and case conferences as required. *Serves on Hospital committees as required. *Maintains records and data collection in area of responsibility. Develops written statistical and graphical reports indicating development and advancement towards program goals and objectives. *Develops and implements policies, procedures and protocols related to clinical specialty in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team incorporating evidence based practice. Evaluates and modifies as required. *Liaises with internal and external organizations in the exchange of information, bench marking and in the coordination of activities relating to best practice in clinical specialty. *May coordinate delegated management responsibilities for staff. *Plans for the training and development of Saudi nursing students and graduates. *Participates in the Hospital's clinical quality improvement plan. *Follow all Hospital related policies and procedures. *Participates in self and other's education, training and development, as applicable. Performs any other related duties as assigned. Airline Tickets: You will be entitled to both Initial Hire and Repatriation tickets to and from your point of origin. In addition, each year if you are there for more than 1 year you will be entitled to a free round-trip annual leave ticket to your point of origin. Service year bonus: One month salary on completion of year two and yearly thereafter paid at the end of each contract year. End of contract bonus: This is a one-time payment made upon your final departure from the Hospital and is accrued throughout your tenure within the Hospital. Severance pay accrues at a rate of 15 days. pay for each of your first four years and 30 days. pay for the fifth and subsequent years. Vacation/ Annual leave: You are entitled to receive total paid leave entitlement of 54 days/year is divided as follows: 36 days paid annual leave (accrued 3 days/month); can be utilized after the completion of 90 day probationary period. 17 days annual paid holidays (07 Eid AI-ftr & 10 Haj Holiday 1 day paid National holiday. Emergency Leave: In the event of death of an employee’s natural parent, spouse or child: All employees will be eligible for 7 days leave with pay. Flight ticket reimbursed. Sick Leave: In the event of on-work related disability, injury or illness: An employee shall be granted full pay for a maximum of 30 calendar days and 75% of full pay for an additional 60 calendar days in each service year. Any sickness in excess of two (2) days shall require an acceptable medical verification of illness; otherwise such absence will be treated as leave without pay. Probationary period: The first 90 days is your probation period. You will be expected to undertake basic competencies and unit based competencies during this time. The competencies are outlined in the Job Description. After the 90 days there still will be unit specific competencies as you reach skills level. An strong mentorship / preceptorship programme is in place for new hires. Free Hospital Housing: You are entitled to receive either free fully furnished shared hospital housing or a housing allowance (some restrictions apply). All utilities are paid by the hospital with the exception of your personal telephone calls, cable TV and internet access in the home. Medical and Dental Treatment: You are entitled to Medical Care through the Family Medicine Department. Dental Treatment is on an emergency basis only. Recreational Facilities: The hospital has a number of recreational facilities open to you, including swimming pools, tennis courts, a bowling alley and amenities centre. In addition, the Employee Social Club & Recreation Services offer a number of recreational courses, exercise programs and trips and a variety of other benefits to the employees. Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Registered Nurse with country specific post registration program. Evidence must be provided. • Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin required. Evidence must be provided. • Four (4) years hospital experience as a registered nurse with at least one (1) year of nursing leadership experience required. Evidence must be provided. • Currently working in wound care nursing specialty area is a requirement.
