Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate CNC machines (VMC, floor boring, machining centres, etc.) to produce parts as per requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM data, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure machining work meets required tolerances, dimensions, and quality standards.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine settings for different operations.
  • Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to optimize output.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper housekeeping in the machining area.
  • Record production data, material usage, and quality control results accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to ensure timely completion of machining tasks.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and assist in calibration of CNC machines.

  • Quality of Machined Parts: Adherence to tolerances, minimal defects and rework.
  • Productivity: Meeting production targets and project deadlines.
  • Safety Compliance: Zero safety violations or incidents in operations.
  • Machine Utilization: Effective operation and minimal downtime.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribution to process optimization and cost efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Machining, or related field.

  • Minimum 35 years of experience in CNC machining operations.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc / Siemens or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with VMC, floor boring machines, and machining centres.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD/CAM models.
  • Knowledge of machining tools, cutting parameters, and inspection methods.
  • Good understanding of safety and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
