Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design & Specification Review:
Review and provide expert comments on all EPC Contractor and Vendor painting, coating, insulation, and Passive Fire Protection (PFP) specifications, procedures, and material selection reports.
Ensure all protective coating specifications are compliant with project requirements, international standards (e.g., ISO, NACE/AMPP, SSPC), and client (e.g., ADNOC) standards for offshore environments. - Technical Authority & Support:
Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for all coating and insulation technical queries (TQs), deviations, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Provide technical guidance to the PMC and EPC teams on surface preparation methods, coating application techniques, and quality control during fabrication and site installation. - Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC):
Develop and review the Quality Control Plan (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) related to coating and insulation works.
Monitor and audit the EPC Contractor's and Subcontractors' coating activities at fabrication yards and offshore sites to ensure strict adherence to approved procedures and specifications.
Witness and approve critical coating inspection and testing activities (e.g., DFT checks, adhesion tests, PFP density tests). - Documentation & Reporting:
Review and approve final coating documentation, manufacturer data reports, and quality dossiers.
Prepare specialist reports on coating progress, performance, and failure analysis. - Inter-Discipline Coordination:
Liaise closely with the Materials & Corrosion, Asset Integrity, Engineering, and QA/QC teams to ensure optimal material compatibility and corrosion protection strategy for the offshore assets.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum Overall 17+ years of experience in Oil and Gas`.
- Must have at least five (4) years of experience in similar position for international Oil &Gas projects.
- Strong expertise in all aspects of EPC / Detail Engineering activities specially in Offshore Oil & gas sector.
- Experience in ADNOC Offshore projects will be an added advantage
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is a pre- requisite for the role.
